Delesia Robinson, RN
Founder,
PADS
The Cleveland Life Institute was honored to work alongside Pride Among Daughter’s and Sisters (PADS). Founded in 2013 PADS has assisted underprivileged girls and women with obtaining personal feminine hygiene items in Cleveland.
PADS STORY
The idea to form PADS was prompted in 2012 by a presentation given by a once-homeless woman. She shared her experiences of homelessness, including not having access to personal hygiene products due to transience and the lack of a stable income. After hearing this presentation, East Cleveland native Delesia Robinson, RN and her daughter Carmen decided to form PADS in hopes of preventing other women from suffering similar indignities. Over the years, PADS has donated to individuals, shelter homes, safe houses, women in foster care, and drug rehabilitation homes.
MISSION: PRIDE AMONG DAUGHTERS & SISTERS INC (PADS) is a 501c3 non-profit organization that provides sanitary pads, tampons, and feminine hygiene products[including incontinence products such as Tena and Depends to elderly women] to underprivileged girls, and women, to promote pride, dignity and confidence.
Delesia is the first in her family to attend college and the story of a once homeless woman drives her to become a community leader. I have the desire to improve our lives and the lives of people around us.
