An Interactive Approach to Expanding Your Organization’s Mission

BluePrint Project Award Overview

The BluePrint Project is part of the Institute for Social Enterprises (ISE)’s educational program to enhance social entrepreneurship of organizations with a strong social justice mission.

After registering for the “Management Skills for Social Entrepreneurs” course, a non-profit organization will apply for the award. The BluePrint Project award is given on a competitive basis to one non-profit organization per term.

The BluePrint Project Awardee non-profit organization will serve as the demonstration project during the “Management Skills for Social Entrepreneurs” course, where it receives special attention assisting its planning for sustainability and impact.

A scholarship will be given to one representative of the organization to enable them to participate in the class.

Upon course completion, a grant for $1000 is awarded to the BluePrint Project organization.

The BluePrint Project agrees to issue a press release stating that it received the BluePrint Project Award from the Institute for Social Enterprises.

Applications will be reviewed by a panel of the Board of Directors and judged based on the criteria below:

  • Clearly states the social justice mission of the organization that engages a timely issue identified as one of the area’s pressing social and/or environmental problems. This mission seeks to disrupt an unsustainable and unjust status quo.

2022 BluePrint Project Organization – PADS

“It is a valuable curriculum, with experienced and knowledgeable presenters, that will give you a good foundation, and help you realize your strength and weaknesses as an organization. It is also a good way to meet and network with other community leaders.”

Interview with PADS Founder Deleisa

What did you enjoy most about the experience? I enjoyed collaborating with like-minded leaders in the community.

What was your greatest takeaway? Although you may have an idea of what your organization needs, it takes time to outline your goals, brainstorm, and come up with an effective plan that makes sense and that is reachable.

How did the ISE course impact your organization? It helped us to think outside of the box. ISE helped us with marketing ideas, executive summary, and initiating a business plan, etc. We were able to look at short-term and long-term goals.

What would you tell potential students and potential supporters, about the value of ISE. It is a valuable curriculum, with experienced and knowledgeable presenters, that will give you a good foundation, and help you realize your strength and weaknesses as an organization. It is also a good way to meet and network with other community leaders. It not only allows you to join, but it gives your board members an opportunity to participate and work on your vision.
